Celebrating Success: Himalaya Foundation's Himalaya 40 Initiative Produces NEET 2024 Achievers
On June 16, at Kokani Hall in South Mumbai, Himalaya Foundation Mumbai, in collaboration with Kawish, hosted a monumental educational event to celebrate the remarkable achievements of students who excelled in the NEET 2024 examination under our Himalaya 40 initiative. This event not only honored these dedicated students but also marked a significant milestone in our continuous efforts to provide quality education and support to aspiring medical professionals.
The program, masterfully moderated by Sheikh Najmuddin, showcased the success stories of our students and detailed the rigorous educational activities spearheaded by Himalaya Foundation. For the past five years, under the Himalaya 40 initiative, we have been diligently preparing students for the NEET exam, a critical gateway to medical colleges in India. This year, our hard work bore fruit as seven of our students qualified for medical admissions, an achievement we are immensely proud of.
During the event, the seven students who scored over 650 marks were awarded tablets by Ashfaq Sahib Khidmat Trust, symbolizing their hard work and dedication. Beyond recognizing their achievements, we sought their opinions and aspirations, providing them a platform to share their dreams and motivations. Each student expressed a strong desire to become a doctor, driven by a deep awareness of their community's needs and a commitment to serve the underprivileged.
One of our top-scoring female students shared her ambition to become a neurosurgeon, motivated by a desire to assist patients facing financial hardships. Another student expressed her goal of becoming a heart specialist to tackle the rampant heart diseases affecting the economically disadvantaged. Similar aspirations were echoed by our male students, all of whom are determined to use their medical education to benefit their families and humanity at large.
Our president, Noorul Hassan, who also leads Al-Etihad School, shared his personal journey of overcoming financial obstacles in his education. His experiences fueled his determination to initiate the Himalaya 40 program. Today, seeing our students succeed is a testament to the program's impact and a fulfillment of his vision.
Sheikh Najmuddin, in his closing remarks, challenged the prevailing misconception that Urdu medium students cannot achieve great success. The fact that five out of our seven successful NEET students came from Urdu or semi-English mediums, while only two were from English medium backgrounds, debunks this myth. Their success stories affirm that with the right support and dedication, students from any medium of instruction can excel.
At Himalaya Foundation, we are committed to breaking barriers and providing equal opportunities for all students. This event not only celebrated our students' achievements but also reinforced our belief in the power of education to transform lives and communities. We look forward to continuing our mission and supporting more students in their journey towards becoming compassionate and skilled medical professionals.
